This image of a fractured right pelvis was made from 46
CT
slices.
It shows a superior/inferior view of the pelvis, i.e., the patient is lying on their back,
and we are looking down through the body from the head towards the feet.
A complicated fracture divides the right hemi-pelvis into five fragments, converging on the apex of the acetabulum:
anterior inferior;
posterior inferior;
anterior superior;
posterior superior;
posterior acetabular tip.
Identifying the fracture planes, and categorizing the fragments by location with respect to the acetabulum,
would be nearly impossible in this case without the Voxgram® image.
